Aluminium Foil is supplied completely sterile thanks to the metal annealing process during manufacture.
It is non-hazardous to health, contains no plasticizers and is environmentally friendly.
Coupled with flexibility and formability, the ease with which aluminium foil can be coated, printed, laminated, slit, cold-formed and embossed qualifies it as an extremely versatile tool for the pack designer.

IPS manufactures specific aluminum foil for blister packaging. In particular our society developed a specific laminated foil composed of OPA/AL/Heat Sealing lacquer (Oriented Polyamide – Aluminium – Heat Sealing lacquer), to manufacture tropical cold form with even higher protection against temperature and moisture. Pharmaceutical foil is manufactured in a clean room with fully aseptic operational conditions. For laminated products a thermal chamber ensures the reticulation of the glue, in order to guarantee perfect adhesion properties.
Flexible aluminium packaging is often requested by the Pharmaceutical Industry because aluminium has important insulating properties. Aluminium containers used in pharmaceutical sector must be sterile and are generally composed of layered material. In addition, aluminium is highly customizable: coloured or natural, plain or embossed, the pharmaceutical packaging can be supplied according to customers’ needs.
